Postdoctoral Researcher
The Laboratory for Mesocopic Systems based at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) is a joint laboratory between the ETH Zurich and the Paul Scherrer Institute, which is the largest research centre for the natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. The current research focus is the investigation of novel magnetic systems at the mesoscopic scale making use of the clean rooms and large-scale facilities at the Paul Scherrer Institute, and fostering the synergies with the Department of Materials (ETH Zurich). We now wish to extend our research to nanomagnetic devices. The group is searching for a:
Postdoctoral Researcher
We are looking for a candidate who has a background in the development of electronics and devices. He/she will use his/her expertise in this area to develop systems within the framework of the current projects of the laboratory, which include nanomagnet logic devices, artificial spin ice, and hybrid systems. Within this context, he/she will develop his/her own ideas in combination with experimental measurements in the laboratory and at large-scale facilities such as the Swiss Light Source.
The candidate should have outstanding qualifications with a PhD in physics, electrical engineering, computer science or a related subject. He/she already has experience with the design of devices and systems, both in terms of computer programming and electronics. He/she should be highly motivated, proactive and creative in order to be successful, and should have excellent team and communication skills.
